Maybelline Baby Skin Review

Hello, Loves! So when Maybelline introduced their Baby Skin instant pore eraser I knew I had to have it, mostly because it has super cute packaging but, also because it's been called a dupe for Benefit's Porefessional, Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, Bare Minerals Prime Time, as well as a few other high-end silicone based primers. It took me quite awhile to get my hands on it because all of the savages that reside in my town completely ransacked the Target and Walmart displays... seriously there were makeup smudges and half opened products everywhere. The scene was pretty tragic looking. Anyway I ended up finding it at Wegmans about a month ago and I've been testing it out and comparing it ever since.

Maybelline's Baby Skin is marketed as a silicone based, fragrance-free, pore blurring primer. It helps to reduce the size and appearance of pores and can be used under makeup or by itself. This product doesn't claim to fill pores, mattify, or increase the longevity of your makeup although many silicone based primers tend to help the staying power of makeup for some people. It is a clear gel that looks very similar to the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer and Bare Minerals Prime time. It has a soft slick consistency that becomes more velvet as it is blended into the skin. I would say that it isn't as light as the Porefessional but isn't as slick as The Smashbox primer so it sits nicely in between the two.

For me personally I found that it really did help to blur out my pores and when makeup was applied over the product they were virtually invisible. My foundation went on smoothly over the product and definitely helped give me a more flawless look. Both the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer and the Porefessional were a bit better at keeping my makeup in place and minimizing oiliness over time but, still it works very well. Over all I wouldn't consider it an exact dupe for either of these products but, it is definitely very similar and it makes for a great cheap alternative. I really like using this product and in fact I use it quite often although I don't think it would ever replace my Porefessional.

I hope this helped if you were in the market for trying out this product. Hopefully soon we will get the Baby Skin Pink Transformer like they have out in Asia.

Until next time!
