The Summer is all about fresh glowing skin. Everyone, including myself, wants to look like they are fresh and glowing from within but sometimes finding the right amount of glow can be challenging. I'm constantly walking the fine line between goddess of glow and a wet oily looking mess. Occasional mirror checks are totally a thing for me for two reasons - 1.) because it's hot and I'm 

definitely getting a natural glow and 2.) I tend to go a little heavy handed when it comes to highlighting.

In case anyone was wondering the room purge is going pretty well. I've still got a ways to go but I'm in the midst of turning my desk into a vanity where I can do my makeup. I've made a few little DIY brush holders and crafted some letter holders into palette holders as well as repotted a few cacti to give the room a little color. It's all coming along so well even though it's a bit messy still. Progress is progress.

I'm a certified reformed hair abuser. I've done a lot of seriously damaging things to my hair over the years and for that, my dear hair that I have left, I am very sorry. I have pretty thick hair and I honestly felt like I could do whatever I wanted to it without any real consequence which, was true until I dyed it grey and toasted most of it to hell. For over a year I didn't touch it with any dyes, hacked a good amount of it off, and worked on getting it back on the mend so I could dye it again (which I was finally able to do - YAY.) When it comes to contouring everyone has their own style and technique. Some people like creams, others like powders, or even both. I'm a both kind of girl because when it comes to makeup a lot of my style and technique comes from wanting to create longevity and for me I've found layering certain products has really helped me to achieve that result. Thin sheer layers is key to flawless makeup ladies and gents - even when you're looking for full coverage results. 

I never want my makeup to look super heavy but I want it to have a lot of definition. No, my makeup is rarely natural but I like to have some natural definition and that's to say I want my bronzer to look like it's sitting on top of a naturally defined cheekbone which God knows I don't particularly have at all.
