Sephora has began their "Scouted by Sephora" animation and they have picked out some amazing products from great brands. They partnered with Besame Cosmetics to bring out this Sephora exclusive Vanilla Brightening Powder; a yellow toned setting powder with a lovely light vanilla scent. Besame created this product without parabens, is gluten-free, and made for sensitive skin. This is super exciting to me because I absolutely love a good yellow toned setting powder. For me personally, they work really well to give my complexion an all over warm glow; it accentuates the fact that I too am banana colored. Sometimes I use them to set my face all over and other times I use them strictly for brightening under eyes and any other place I want to highlight. For the longest time Ben Nye's Banana Powder was my Holy Grail setting powder and it still sits at the ready just incase.
The Besame Cosmetics Brightening Vanilla Face Powder is translucent but its slightly yellow tint is amazing for correcting redness or harsh pink undertones. The powder is so finely milled that it gives a gorgeously blurred finish and never feels heavy or cakey so that you can set your under eyes without worry and you can use it for touchups throughout the day. You can use this product alone or to set your makeup. The Besame powder is a bit lighter than Banana powder making it suitable for brightening and highlighting virtually all skin tones. This lighter tone also makes it better for correcting dark circles.
The consistency of this powder is smooth, creamy, and is packed with vitamin C, squalene, and making it great for all skin types because it has the ability to absorb oils without making the skin look dry. Yet, since it is a powder, this is not a very hydrating product so make sure that if you have dry patches that you are properly moisturizing and using minimal product over those areas. When working with powders in your under eye area you always want to use just enough to do the job so that the area looks bright and awake, free of creasing and cakey-ness.
I am so in love with this powder. There is no SPF so it's perfect for everyday and for special occasions where there will be tons of photos (mostly selfies) taken. It is the perfect product to finish off a fresh radiant look. If you've been looking for a product to boost and brighten your look no further.
