At this point I think the fact that I love matte neutral lip colors has been drilled into everyone's brains. It's clearly no secret and I have zero shame in the fact that some may call my lipstick choices pretty basic... it's totally fine though because I find them simple and gorgeous in my humblest opinion. With that being said the new MAC Mattes Collection spoke to me on multiple levels. I know that a good chunk of them are just re-launches but, the nudes and the collection are just heavenly. There are quite a few that I wanted to pick up but, I'd prefer to get them in store rather than online. Yet, for clear reasons I couldn't wait to pick up Whirl so I just ordered it online the day it launched haha.
As a beautiful dirty rose liner, Whirl, won the hearts of makeup lovers far and wide by being the perfect partner to almost any nude lip. Then the world's love for Whirl intensified even further with the ever growing popularity of the "Kylie Jenner lip." Now it is a matte lipstick making life a little easier and just a bit more beautiful. This warm rosey toned brown is launching as part of MAC's permanent lipstick collection and word on the street is that every lipliner will eventually be transformed into a lipstick in the upcoming year or two (don't quote me though it's just what I've heard.)
As a lipstick, Whirl, goes on smoothly and feels creamy on the lips. It goes on evenly and doesn't look patchy. It has a comfortable wear and isn't overly drying like some of MAC's other matte lipsticks. The longevity is pretty standard so it lasts about 4 to 5 hours. Reapplication is simple and you don't have to worry about it tugging on the lips or looking dry and cakey.
This little lipstick is going to make a perfect addition to my collection. I can only see this little guy getting lots of love as a part of my lipstick rotation.
