There is nothing my high strung little self loves more than lavender scented anything. It's so soothing it instantly puts me at ease. If everything in my life could be lavender scented I would be the happiest little camper. Hell if I suffocated in lavender I would die the happiest person on the planet. So when I found out MAC was coming out with a lavender scented Fix+ I knew I had to run out and get it. Makeup products + lavender = happiest Lexi - simple math.
I'm not going to lie when it comes to MAC I don't know much other than that I love their lipsticks. If someone tells me they want to get a foundation and that their MAC shade is NC25 I am going to look at them with a blank stare and a raised brow because what they just told me means absolutely nothing to me. On the other hand tell me you're looking for a lipstick that looks like Media or Girl About Town and we are in easy business. Since they launched their new\ revamped mattes lipstick collection I haven't been able to stay away. It also doesn't help that there is a MAC Pro store right next to my job.
At this point I think the fact that I love matte neutral lip colors has been drilled into everyone's brains. It's clearly no secret and I have zero shame in the fact that some may call my lipstick choices pretty basic... it's totally fine though because I find them simple and gorgeous in my humblest opinion. With that being said the new MAC Mattes Collection spoke to me on multiple levels. I know that a good chunk of them are just re-launches but, the nudes and the collection are just heavenly. There are quite a few that I wanted to pick up but, I'd prefer to get them in store rather than online. Yet, for clear reasons I couldn't wait to pick up Whirl so I just ordered it online the day it launched haha.
I am forever on the hunt for the perfect nude and I can never have too many. I could spend countless hours swatching nude lipsticks at makeup counters searching for the perfect one with contentment. When I came across MAC's Modesty lipstick I knew it had to be mine (because I'm an addict and I want all the lipsticks to belong to me.) Modesty is from the cremesheen range and it is a muted neutral pink that is balanced perfectly between warm and cool tones making it perfect for a wide variety of skintones. It is definitely one of those my lips but better shades, or at least thats how it wears on me. The color gives a fresh glow to the face and brings out the color in light pink and rose colored blushes.
Hey, Loves! So for Black Friday MAC came out with a limited edition matte black lipstick. The lipstick was only available for Black Friday but, I believe it is also going to be a part of the Punk Couture collection that comes out on December 26th. It seems to feel more creamy than MAC's other matte finish lipsticks so the application was very smooth and doesn't feel drying on the lips. It has a mostly opaque finish to it. I have heard many people have an issue with it being too sheer and not applying evenly I didn't run into this issue (I'm lucky I guess.) Although it is sheer on the first swipe but it is easily buildable. This product isn't the easiest to maneuver though so it does require some finesse and probably a black liner.
