It's Spring so that means love is in the air, right?! Spring is wedding and prom season so I feel like "love" goes hand in hand with all of the seasonal occasions at least to some extent. Either way love or not I feel like there's an exceptional amount of kissing going on around this time so it's a better time than ever to get full kissably soft lips. Hell, even if you aren't doing any kissing full soft lips just because sounds pretty nice to me. Imagine all the beautiful lipsticks that you can pop on your lips without any issues - mattes, satins, glosses, anything!
If you can't tell I've been really into lip care recently. I don't really know what sparked the fascination but it's here and I'm running with it. I've recently found a lip care routine that I've really been loving lately and I wanted to share it with you. Personally, I do this routine while I'm fiddling around before bed watching netflix but, I think it would work well in preparing for an event or a night out.
There are tons of ways to care for your lips but here's mine.
First things first I exfoliate my lippies. I am an avid matte liquid lipstick wearer (as if that fun fact about me isn't already abundantly known.) So it's very important that I keep my lips exfoliated so they aren't all dry and flakey. I'm currently using the ELF Cosmetics Lip Exfoliator because I like how easy it is to use in "lipstick style" form.
After I've gotten all of that business taken care of I pop on one of the new Sephora Collection Lip Masks. I'm not going to go into too much detail now about them because I'll be posting a review this Wednesday but, I will say they are perfect for getting your lips super nourished and hydrated. Depending on how I'm feeling I'll keep the mask on anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes although waiting a bit longer than that never really hurt either if you're feeling super chapped or dry.
I top it all off with the GlamGlow Plumprageous Matte Lip Treatment. This is my favorite product for plumping my lips because it's not over the top and doesn't make my lips look overly red and inflamed (if you like super plumping try the Too Faced Lip Injection.) It gives my lips a nice fuller look and because it's matte it's perfect for priming my lips.
When I'm done I start applying my makeup and I'm good to go. The routine is super easy and makes applying even the driest lipstick a breeze.
