Rolling Out the Royal Treatment with Drybar
With all of my recent hair changes my hair has been seriously suffering so I've taken it upon myself to get more into hair care. I've never owned or tried more than a handful of high-end hair care brands until recently because honestly I just never cared about my hair enough. I'm one of those people who barely styles their hair and people find it to be a miracle when I actually decide to brush it (honestly it just looks better untouched sometimes...right?!) Within the past month or so though I have been going nuts over trying out different hair care products and brands. I've always been a little curious about Drybar since everything about it just smells and looks amazing.
I am just a total sucker for some cute packaging and it doesn't hurt that I've heard some amazing things about Drybar products. I ended up picking up their travel pack, The Royal Treatment, because it had almost every product that I wanted to try and they were all designed for hydration and nourishment, twp things my hair desperately needs all of the time. I'm kind of into the whole travel size product thing because although I can only get about 3 washes out of the shampoo and conditioner the other products are sizes that I feel like I can actually finish so I won't have even more clutter around my bathroom sink and tub.
Sake Bomb Shampoo - The shampoo is a great light-weight nourishing shampoo that doesn't leave the hair feeling too slick or heavy. Unfortunately because my hair is so dry I felt like it wasn't enough for my hair. I think that if my hair wasn't as coarse and dry it would have been perfect.
Sake Bomb Conditioner - I enjoyed the conditioner more than the shampoo because it felt much more nourishing in my hair. As soon as I started working it though my hair I could instantly feel a difference in how soft my hair was and it was a feeling that continued to last even after the shower. I would consider it a good conditioner to use when I am alternating with my repairative shampoo and conditioner.
Mudslide Nourishing Hair Mask - I love a good hair mask and this one is no exception. I felt like this mask helped my hair to lock in moisture and hydration for softer, healthier, looking hair. It recommends just putting it in your hair from the mid lengths to the tips but, I used this root to tip without any issues. It didn't weigh down my hair or make my roots look greasy so I'd have to say this product does a job well done.
Hot Toddy UV & Heat Protectant - Heat Protectants are a must in my life for what are probably obvious reasons. I really put my hair through the heat ringer so I realize I have to do what I can to not make the situation any worse than I have to and I think this product does a pretty good job at helping me out. After using this protectant my hair isn't nearly as ridiculously dry and frizzy looking after I blow dry it. When it comes to the UV part I couldn't give you a
definitive answer either way considering the lack of time I spend outdoors subjecting myself to fading and what not.
100 Proof Treatment Oil - I was probably the most excited about this little gem right here because I love how oils give hair an instant pick me up along with a nice glossy shine. I love concentrating it onto my ends to help repair and hydrate my poor sad split ends. I also like using this on dry hair to smooth out my hair a bit and tame any crazy flyaways that may be happening all over my head. This oil is probably my favorite thing out of this whole kit because a little goes a long way and it gives my hair the instant results it needs to look a bit more presentable.
I'm really glad I picked up this kit because not only am I going to get a ton of use out of these products but, it also helped me pick out some things I might need to repurchase in the future. Soft beautiful Rapunzel esque hair here I come.
