5 Super Simple Makeup Tips

For whatever reason this past week has been a bit disorienting so my blogging schedule has been thrown off a bit. I feel like this happens more often than it should but no worries the show must go on and I am just going to chug forward. I have a lot of ideas and a few little reviews I'm getting ready for the blog but, today I just wanted to bring it back to the basics with a few simple makeup tips that will hopefully make your beauty routine just a little better or at the very least a little more simple.

Some of these tips might be no brainers but, regardless somethings just need to be said just incase!

1. Skin care is just as important if not more important than having the right makeup. The better care you take of your skin the less complexion makeup you are going to need. I can't tell you how many people don't properly take care of their skin and it really shows... It's not cute to be crusty.

2. When buffing in foundation with a brush always use downward motions because if you push product upwards it will attach to any hairs you have on your face making you not only look fuzzy but it will also look like your foundation isn't laying properly. You can also stipple instead of sweep foundation onto areas where you need more coverage.

3. Cream contours will typically look more seamless and natural than powder contours because of how well they blend into one another... yes it takes more time but, if you have the time and skill I recommend it.

4. Layering two different types of foundations can really change not only the amount of coverage you can get but, it can also (depending on the product) waterproof your makeup, give you the perfect amount of radiance, give you more of an airbrushed look, and/or help the foundations to lay better.

5. You can mix hydrating powders into more sheer coverage foundations in order to give yourself more coverage without making yourself look super cakey... I just found this out and I think it's kind of magical.

Like I said it might be a little simple but, it's always important to go back to the basics sometimes. You can't build a solid house on a rocky foundation!
