Friday Favorites | February Favorties
February has been short, bitter, and cold... I can't say I'm sorry to see it and it's crap-tastic weather go. On the plus side this has been one of the first times in a long time that I've been really dedicated to a few new products and a few rediscoveries. I always think it's great to find a few long lost loves that have been over-looked under the mounds of eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks, and blushes.
I'm not sure why it took me so long to jump onto the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer bandwagon but, I'm glad that I'm finally on board. I don't tend to use this on blemishes, instead I think its the perfect base product to highlight my under eyes. It fixes my dark circles and just allows for the powder I put on top of it to just pop a little bit more. The concealer works well with my next favorite which isn't new. I have always loved my beauty blender for all of my creams but, I've started using it damp with my Besame Brightening Powder to set my under eyes and I am absolutely obsessed. Since the beauty blender is damp it allows me to apply just enough powder to set everything. It never looks cakey and it gives me an airbrushed finish. If you can't tell my under eyes and brightening my complexion have been big for me this month. I don't know what it is but, I've been feeling pretty dull and exhausted this past month and this little combo has been giving my face a dreamy pick-me-up. When it comes to lips my life has gotten me exhausted of bold lips, I'm not saying I don't love them any more but the two of us are in serious need of some time part. This break has allowed me to rekindle my deep passionate love for nudes. The NYX lipliner in Mauve glides on effortlessly and doesn't budge which makes it a great base that can also work on its own. Too Faced Melted lipstick in Melted Chihuahua has great creamy pigmentation that combines great wear with lasting color. Both of these lippies together blend to create the perfect mix of brown, nude, and mauve. This gorgeous combo can be dressed up or dressed down making it ideal for almost any occasion under the sun or at least that's how I feel about it. I know I've said in the past that I'm not much of a fuss when it comes to mascaras so long as they work and aren't super chunky on the lashes. The Perricone MD no mascara mascara is actually one that I have actually found a special place in my heart for in the most recent months. I love the way it makes my lashes look because it gives them just enough length and and definition to make my lashes look perfectly dramatic. I think this is the most unexpected favorite for me because it's from a skincare brand instead of my typical makeup brand that is known for their expertise in the mascara game. Lately, I have been working on finishing my Make Up For Ever Pro Shadows palette. I use these shadows everyday and I even use the matte pink one (M-816) as a blush. MUFE hands down makes some of the best eyeshadows that I have ever used since they are so buttery and have amazing pigmentation. I've had a few of these shadows for quite some time but they didn't see much action until I put all my little babies together. I can't wait till I finish this palette... and I don't know, maybe five more. My last favorite could have a post all of its own because I have been obsessed with neutral nails lately and Essie's Sand Tropez is my numero uno right now. I've had this color for possibly ages and I never even touched it more than twice before I rediscovered it. Since then I have worn this on my nails almost all month because I can't get enough. I hope this next month brings amazing moments and more awesome products to obsess over... I'm also hoping for warmer weather. Warmer weather would be much appreciated.
