What's in My Bag

Typically, I have always tended to carry around an excessive amount of nonsense with me; random lipsticks, assorted treats, water bottles, miscellaneous office supplies, and tons of loose change. Yet recently I've had to cut down since I've downgraded myself to a smaller bag. It's been three months and I'm still not used to it but, I'm sure it's for the best because I really don't have any need to keep so much junk on my person all the time and still I carry around some unnecessary things from time to time. Right now I'm sporting some random Michael Kors satchel of sorts. Honestly I'm not sure of the style or anything like that because I've just never been all that into bags. I know what I like aesthetically but thats about as far as that goes... I'm sorry if that's shameful of me.

It might not seem like it but, this isn't a ton of stuff for me to be carrying around compared to how much I was toting before. For me this assortment of personal belongings is quite organized. Of course I find it a necessity to carry my blogging journal and pens around with me everywhere I go just in case I suddenly have the urge to jot something down or a brilliant idea randomly strikes me. I'm usually on the go between work and home so when something comes to mind I'm usually on the fly and this actually really comes in handy. I love being able to physically write things down and organize my thoughts. For whatever reason it helps me remember things better and feel more creative. There are some random matches from a cute Georgetown bakery called Baked and Wired in my bag...I don't know why but I think maybe they will come to good use one day. Of course maybe two of the only things I really need in my bag are my Michael Kors wallet and my brown leather change purse (having change for parking meters in DC and Bethesda are always important.) I don't actually need these headphones as I don't even use them to listen to music; I'm just one of those people who uses them as a bluetooth so they don't have to hold their phone up to their ear like a normal person. I love looking like I'm talking to myself as I walk down the street.  I've also got gum, tons of gum, because that's how people make friends; they whip out a pack of gum and the people come-a-flockin. In case anyone was wondering how to make friends all it really takes is a few pieces of gum. I also am forever sporting my little green eye'd makeup bag full of current favorite lippies, blotting papers, and hair ties. A the moment Lime Crime's Cashmere Velvetine and Anastasia Beverly Hills Heathers liquid lipsticks have been on the top of my list.

I like reading when I have the time so I've also been carrying around my most recent read. Like I've said in an earlier post the book is okay- some decently sarcastic good points coupled with terrible valley girl humor and some intellectual wit. The book could be better but, it could be worse. I obviously have to carry around my car keys strung together with some large keychains so I can easily pull them out of the bottom of my bag and I don't lose them.  I top it all off with my Pocket Juice so I can charge my phone on the go because God forbid I'm detached from society for more than a minute.

This is the most organized my purse has ever been and I'm pretty proud of it. There is no way that I could ever get a purse any smaller than what I'm working with now though because I would drive myself absolutely insane trying to shove all of my "essentials" into that bad boy but, maybe one day (probably not though).
