Tea Talk Tuesday | Post #24

We are already half way through the year and this year has definitely been a roller coaster of emotions for me. I have had a lot to celebrate and a lot to cry over so far this year because I have gone through so many new life lessons and experiences. Some of those experiences I could have definitely lived without but, at the very least they have taught me some pretty important things about life and myself. I have accomplished a lot of the goals I had set for myself but, I still think that I have a lot more to do in order to get into the best place of mind. So I've created a little list of things I want to accomplish and work on the rest of the year. Hopefully, I'll accomplish most of the things on my list before the year is out but, I have to be realistic about it.

Not to blame the way I am on astrology but I'm a water sign, a scorpio to be more precises and I embody most of the scorpio ways to a T. I'm emotional, quick to temper, and a bit resentful. Obviously, I have some pretty bomb traits too but, this is about what I need to work on in life soooo I'll leave that for another time. I believe changing your mindset can help you change the outcome of your situations so first things first I'm aware that there are a few things I have to work on. Here's my list of goals.

- Don't be so quick to get defensive: Even if I have no reason to be defensive if someone accuses me of something I instantly get mad and raise my voice. I need to tone it down because I think it makes me look like I'm guilty or have something to hide even when I don't.

- Don't get upset over things you cannot control: If someone wants to be an ignorant jackass I just let them and if something crappy happens due to no fault of my own I just need to work with the cards I'm given. There are some things I just can't change so I need to move on with my life.

- Focus less on what others think: If other people want to throw shade on matters they no nothing about, let them. The most important thing is to keep on doing my best and proving people wrong through positive action.

- Always look out for yourself: If you aren't going to look out for your best interests no one else will. It's not selfish it's self preservation.

- Keep a positive mindset: Remember problems won't last forever so keep working as hard as possible and everything will pay off in the end.

- Don't be afraid to try new things or put yourself out of your comfort zone: The worst thing you can do to yourself is hold yourself back.

I'd like to make a few more goals for myself in the not so distant future but, I think it's important to work on my interpersonal self first so that everything else runs more smoothly to follow.
