January Favorites

Hello, Loves! I've fallin in love with so many products this month. Some of them were super new to me and others were rekindled loves from my past makeup flings. I can't stand the month of January... it's cold, depressing, and nothing good ever really happens for me during the month but, the beauty product gods have graced me with a silver lining to this cloudy month.

Sephora OPI Gel Nail Polish Kit: I've had this kit for probably over a year now. I used it a lot in the beginning but, then I stopped because the polish was always peeling off after a few days. Well it turns out that it's because I was doing it wrong...figures. I should have read the directions. Anyway, I corrected the error of my ways and reignited the flame between us. We couldn't be happier together. I have tons of gel colors but, I've been giving myself black gel manicures for the last two months. I'm so obsessed! My nails always have a clean super shiny look to them and they never chip or flake.

Vaseline Total Moisture Cocoa Radiant Deep Conditioning Cream: It's been a windy, cold, and just plain unfortunate winter thus far and my skin has been suffering. This tube of goodness has really been doing the trick for saving my skin. It has a thick consistency that really makes me feel like it's working deep into my skin. I put it on every time I get out of the shower because my skin tends to feel tight afterwards and this starts soothing it as soon as I put it on. This product doesn't make me feel too oily or greasy overall but, I do try to wipe it off of my palms before I start applying makeup or anything else. The cocoa butter scent is a bit stronger than other cocoa butter products I've used. It doesn't bother me but, if you're not into the scent I'd stay away.

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation: I know that I am way late to the party on this one. This foundation seems to be everyone and their mother's holy grail product. I really have no excuse for never looking into it before because it's absolutely amazing. Until this point I have been pretty loyal to my Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hr. Foundation which I still love but, this has been giving it a run for it's money. It's a pretty full coverage foundation yet, it's not as heavy and it is easily sheered out using a beauty blender. It also works well with my oily skin and lasts throughout the day. This is by far my favorite drugstore foundation that I have ever used.

OCC Lip Tar in Pretty Boy: I received this product in a Sephora lipstick sampler pack for Christmas and I never thought I would use it because I never thought a bright pink would look good on me. Yet, once again life proved me wrong. I've been reaching for this every time I want a bold lip. It's long wearing and it doesn't look all gross and chunky when it starts to wear off. I can eat and drink with it on without worrying about serious touch-ups. After a few hours it does become a little drying but, I just put a little clear gloss over it and I'm good to go again.

Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso: Here is yet another cult product that I never got around to obsessing over. Milani's Luminoso is a beautiful golden peach that gives a really nice glow to the face. It's super pigmented so I always go in with a light hand and build up the color...if I don't things get a little too intense but, it's easily fixed by blending it out with a stippling brush. I've used this almost every single day since I got it only rotating it out with my Benefit Rockateur blush.

Makeup Forever Aqua Cream in 16: I would first like to start off by saying I really hate how Makeup Forever just numbers their products. It's like you guys are creative enough to make all of these beautiful colors but, you can't even make an attempt to give them cool names...alright cool. Okay so anyway this is a beautiful pink champagne cream eyeshadow. I use it has a base for my eyeshadow just to brighten everything up and to allow for my eyeshadows to really pop. This product is so creamy and pigmented. I think it would also be great as a quick on the go wash of color.

Benefit World Famous Neutrals Palette: This palette is comprised of four shimmery eyeshadows and two gold toned cream eyeshadows. I've been using the cream eyeshadows sometimes in conjunction with my makeup forever one, mostly in the outer corners and up into the crease. Mostly I've been using "It's Complicated" which is a gold shimmer pinky peach shade all over my lid on top of my base and "Call my Buff" the shimmer eggshell color as a highlight. On days when I just want a natural eye I just pull this out and I'm good to go. On another note the packaging is super cute and has a little magnet that secures the lid which makes it safe for travel.

Lorac Pro Palette: I don't think that I have ever not loved this palette. Although I have never outwardly expressed my love for this palette I have been using it almost everyday since I got it almost a year ago. I actually have another one for when this one has to throw in the towel (yes thats how much I love it.) I can't say enough good things about it. All the shadows are super pigmented and you could create any sort of look that you wanted, from a smoky eye to a natural one. This has it all. Then it's thin packaging also makes it great to just slide into you travel makeup bag because it virtually takes up zero space. Yup, all around perfection right here.

Those were all the makeup products I have been completely loving in the month of January. Hopefully this month brings a whole bunch more fun and exciting products and experiences.

Until next time,

- Lexi
