The Importance of Skincare

I'd like to call this a little service announcement. A week or so ago I was having a conversation over coffee with my friend Julie. We were talking about how many people choose to skimp out on their skincare routines because they either don't want to spend the money or they think that they don't need it. Most people tend to want to spend more on makeup to cover up their problem areas with some instant gratification instead of investing in treatments that can take around a month to work (the cellular renewal time in young individuals.) Trust me I get that it's hard to put faith in something you can't see right away but, it is important and should be a part of your daily routine along with your makeup. Cleanse, treat, and moisturize.

The less you take care of your skin the more it shows. It might not be initially evident but, the wear and tear on your skin really starts to show after a while and it is easy to pick out those who have really allowed themselves to weather. I get that people's natural skin is a reason for a huge lack of self confidence in some people but, only putting makeup over top of it honestly will not help the situation. Help clear and treat your skin with the proper skincare routine because when results start to show you will feel so much better, trust me.

At the very least a proper skincare routine will allow your makeup to go on more smoothly and look better. The proper base is key to a pristine application. Makeup covers uneven tones but not uneven textures so if you ever feel like your makeup isn't going on evenly or it looks patchy like it is clinging to skin in certain areas you may just need to add something to your skincare routine such as exfoliation and proper hydration in order to fix the issue. Everyone's skin is different and works well with different products so finding what is best for you may seem a bit challenging at first but, when you finally find the perfect routine your skin with thank you for it.
