Sephora Cream Lip Stains | Blackberry Sorbet, African Violet, Marvelous Mauve, Polished Purple Review

Sephora decided to revamp their Cream Lip Stain line and took away all of the colors except for Always Red 01, Infinite Rose 05, and Strawberry Kiss 03. They are replacing them with ten new colors which are launching within the next two weeks. The line will include some nude, bold, and vivid colors so that there will be a little something for everyone. I picked four of the ten up the other day so that you all can have a little insight into what fun things there are to come.

I tried to pick some colors from across the spectrum so that you could get a feel for the colors across the board. I picked up Marvelous Mauve, African Violet, Blackberry Sorbet, and Polished Purple. These cream to satin/matte lip stains glide on like butter and have highly opaque pigmentation and long lasting wear (around 6hrs.) They have minimal fading even after eating and have virtually no transfer. The formula feels light on the lips and has a comfortable wear. Each one goes on evenly and opaquely, the only one that I had a little bit of trouble with was Polished Purple because it went on a little streaky in the beginning but, after a little layering it looked perfect. This makes them an obvious go to for long days at work and even longer nights out. The stain each color leaves behind mirrors the original color but on a fairly lighter scale. The stain is pretty but I think that it looks better with the more pinky shades. Those stains look a little more natural where the purple ones look a little more messy and dirty.

Marvelous Mauve - Dusty rose toned mauve

African Violet - Vibrant violet with a light shimmer

Blackberry Sorbet - Mid-toned berry red with shimmer

Polished Purple - Dark purple with shimmer

I am really excited for these new Sephora Cream Lip Stains but, I am really going to miss some of the old colors, Classic Beige was one of my favorites so it really sucks to see it go. Hopefully I'll be able to find a similar color somewhere just so I can fully embrace all these beautiful new colors.
