Scammer Used My Information to Get Free Stuff!

The other night I received a random e-mail from a woman named Caroline from Barefoot Yoga inquiring about how I liked the yoga mat they sent me to review. The e-mail was very kind and she offered to give information that might be needed in order to write the most informed review. At first I didn't respond because I was confused and I was sure that they must have accidentally  contacted the wrong person because I don't typically ask companies to send me products to review and I didn't recall ever getting asked to review a yoga mat or anything of that nature. I even checked through the rest of my inbox to see if I had missed a previous e-mail or something like that but, I came up with nothing.

The next day I went back to the message because I planned to write back to tell them that they had contacted the wrong person so that they could go back and reach out to the right person. This is when I realized that the message that was sent to me was part of a long strand of e-mails going back and forth between the company and someone using the e-mail address "lexilazaroo@yahoo.com." Whoever this person is/was had e-mailed the company posing as me, giving them all of my blog and social media information. They asked the company if they would be willing to send products to them so that they could be reviewed on my blog (a site they claimed as their own.) Caroline was kind enough to oblige and sent out a yoga mat to be reviewed and posted to instagram. From the thread I read this individual had her send the product to an address in Brooks, GA and had it shipped to a girl named "Sara" who this person claimed was her roommate. The individual the was corresponding with said that they had packages sent to their roommate because they didn't like giving out their full name (funny because my blog name as well as all my social media tags are my real name thus, they were posing as someone who has their name plastered on the internet and clearly has no problem giving out their last name.)

Once, I realized what had happened I was appalled and felt the need to spread the word about what had transpired. I find it terrible that someone would want to get free stuff so bad that they would give companies fake personal information and risk soiling someone else's reputation for not following through with promises some jackass scammer made on their behalf. Be careful out there guys there are some scummy people out there that are willing to do anything for free stuff!
