Friday Favorites | Top 5 Holiday Red Lips

Now that the holiday season is virtually in full swing it's time for red lips to take their place in the spotlight. Red lips in my opinion always have and always will be a staple in classic holiday makeup looks. They make an eye catching statement that ties together with all the glitz and glam the season has to offer. Red lips are timeless, classic, and give a little pop of color to an otherwise colorless time of year.

I picked out five of my favorite red lips that I think pair perfectly with the holidays. There are so many different shades there's a little something out there for anyone to give it a festive little whirl.

[Left to Right: Pomegranate, Avenue, Cruella, Damned, and Always Red]

Bite High Pigment Pencil in Pomegranate - A creamy rich red that is sure to pack a pop. There is no other way to describe this color than fun and vibrant. If you want to make a statement look no further.

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Avenue - A deep yellow based red that is perfect for when you want to go bold but not necessarily bright. Opting for a darker red like this allows you make a statement without it being too in your face.

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella - A scentual scarlet red that gives a little mystery to your look. Scarlet is such a sultry color I feel like it gives a beautiful softness and elegance to any look.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Damned - A blackened cherry red for the ultimate edgy red lip. It's unconventional in terms of most reds that you think about for the holiday season but, it is guaranteed to make a statement and allow you to stand out from the crowd.

Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain in Always Red - A classic red that obviously embodies the traditional holiday red. It's the color you instantly think of when you hear the words "red lip." Timeless and sophisticated this is a shade of red that will never steer you wrong.

There is really a red for everyone it's just a matter of finding what is right and comfortable for you. Even if red typically isn't your thing maybe just give it a try, who knows you might end up falling in love with the color.
