MOTD | Post 3

I'm not going to lie I really didn't have a specific vision when I was doing this look but, after I was finished I couldn't help but think of flaming hot Cheetos or fire. I was mostly thinking about the Cheetos though, I'm always hungry.

#MOTD | Post 2

I've never thought of red or a tint, shade, or tone of the color as being my favorite but, I would consider it my power color. Anyone who knows me though probably assumes it's the only color I care about because I incorporate it heavily into most of my makeup looks. I love the strength and emotion around deep shades of red. It's the color of love, war, and blood.

ColourPop Ultra Metallic Lip Lights Out, Salt, & Man Eater | Review

I've been buying more false lashes than lipsticks lately which is pretty interesting to me considering the fact that I used to buy new lipsticks just about every week. Sometimes the tides change but they usually come back around. I was desperately missing some new lip products in my life so when Colourpop recently restocked their Ultra Metallic Lip products once again I figured I would give them a good run.

ColourPop Brow Pencil and Brow Colour (Bangin Brunette) | Review

Three cheers for new eyebrow products! Over the past few months I've been letting my eyebrows grow out into their naturally bush-tastic glory. It wasn't my original intention but, the last lady to thread my eyebrows borderline destroyed them and I've been looking very unsymmetrical for quite sometime as I've waited for the right brow to refill the bottom of itself. It's been about 4-5 months since I've gotten my brows done but, we are finally almost back in business. Since my eyebrows are really full now I've had to be careful and tweak my eyebrow routine in order to make sure that they don't come off looking too intense when I fill them in. This obviously means trying new products (because I always need a good excuse to buy more makeup.)

ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip: Mess Around, Echo Park, Tansy | Review

When I first got into makeup I was one of those people that always wore heavy eye makeup and never put on a lip and now I really can't stand not putting on some sort of lip product. I feel like my lipsticks complete me in a way. It's funny how people change like that. I have loads of makeup products but my lip products probably blow every other category of makeup that I have out of the water in terms of how many I own. I have no shame in that fact and actually I may actually take a little pride in it. For instance as soon as I clicked "complete order" on this ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip order I just wanted to sit out by my mailbox until my order came.

Friday Favorites | Top 5 Holiday Red Lips

Now that the holiday season is virtually in full swing it's time for red lips to take their place in the spotlight. Red lips in my opinion always have and always will be a staple in classic holiday makeup looks. They make an eye catching statement that ties together with all the glitz and glam the season has to offer. Red lips are timeless, classic, and give a little pop of color to an otherwise colorless time of year.

Friday Favorites | Best Dark Lips for Fall

Like almost every other lipstick lover in the world I have two moods - nude and dark. If I'm not wearing a dark lip I'm hanging out on the other side of the spectrum in one of the vampiest lipstick shades I can find. Although I think a dark lip can be rocked any time of the year, Autumn is really the dark lips' time to shine. Tons of new dark makeup collections come out and trend guides show makeup lovers new and old just how to get that perfect dark lip that will suit their style.

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip| Review

Here's to another huge launch that sent a site crashing and left makeup junkies all over the world scrambling and stressing about little liquid lipsticks. I feel like no matter how much a site attempts to "prepare" for a huge launch it never works out quite right. It seems like the amount of people that end up rushing the site are unfathomable to these companies and the servers just aren't ready to keep up with the demand. It also doesn't help that everyone is typically overloading the servers by being on 10 devices at once and constantly refreshing the page (you're just making life harder on yourself and everyone else.) Regardless of the stress I do have to say this launch wasn't nearly as bad as the Morphe Jaclyn Hill Palette launch since it didn't happen at 3 am. I'm not going to say getting these ColourPop Ultra Matte Lips wasn't a nightmare because it totally was but, once again obsessive dedication and patience won out and I got the job done.

Friday Favorites | April Favorites

Another month of 2015 down and another batch of things I have been obsessing over. April has been a pretty vanilla month, as are most months of my life but none the less I found things to get excited over. I'm pretty excited the weather is getting warmer and my allergies are starting to die down again. For a minute there I was really worried for the well being of my winged liner because I couldn't go out of the house without immediately tearing up to the brink of being blinded by pollen. Things are better now and I'm happy I don't have to worry about the state of my eye makeup any longer and I can focus on the more important things in life like what kind of makeup I'm going to buy next.

ColourPop Blushes Birthday Suit, Aphrodisiac, and Between the Sheets | Review

ColourPop is a fairly new brand to me but it has quickly become one of my favorite affordable brands by far. Their formulation, color, and customer service makes this brand a force to be reckoned. Recently I've picked up some of their blushes in Birthday Suit, Aphrodisiac, and Between the Sheets and although the formulation is something I have had to get used to I can honestly say I have really been loving them.

Friday Favorites | Perfect Nude Lip Combos

I'm a lipstick addict. I am 2000% aware of the fact that I am one of those people who owns 72 lipsticks that look exactly the same along with every other lip color that could have been sprung into existence; I get it and I am totally accepting of it. It wasn't until more recently though that I began adding liners into the equation. This little add-on has really only intensified my addiction and although most of my everyday color choices are pretty vanilla by most standards there have been some combinations I have been totally obsessing over and wanted to share with all of you.

ColourPop Eyeshadow | Review

So I finally got around to placing an order with ColourPop. Like I am with most things in life I know I'm a little late to the party with swooning over these eyeshadows and their products in general. Overall ColourPop is not only affordable but it is also unique and created with amazing quality. The brand's color range is fantastic and I feel like there is something on the site that could suit anyone. Their shadows (as well as their blushes - we will get to that in another post) are this amazingly soft wet consistency that somehow turns into a powder - if that makes any sense. They are so buttery and creamy that they work like a dream with intense pigmentation. When using these shadows you get the best color pay off when using your fingers which is fine and great when you just want to pack some pigment onto the lid for a quick look. The finger technique isn't the best for more blended and detailed looks but don't worry because they work just as well with brushes which actually surprised me a little since the texture is a bit different from anything I have ever really worked with in the past. The one thing that you have to be careful with when using these shadows is that you put the lids on tightly when you're finished with them so they don't dry out and try to make sure you don't accidently shove your finger\brush all the way through the product. Since these shadows are so soft I can envision a serious disaster occurring from pressing a little too hard and just destroying the whole pan.
