Friday Favorites | March Favorites

It's monthly favorites time once again. I think they are some of my favorite posts to read and write although I can't say I ever have tons of favorites. What can I say - I like a lot of things but, I don't LOVE a lot of things. I'm a tad selective when it comes to calling something a favorite. I'm glad other people aren't as picky as I am though because I love watching super long favorites videos on YouTube because you all know I'm taking notes on what to try next.

Now that color correcting has been getting a well overdue revival in the makeup community it seems like every company is jumping on board and creating their own renditions of color correcting products. Seriously the revival of the trend has brought the amount of color correcting products on the shelves from 0 to 100 in what seems like overnight. Time is really ticking on the Holiday/Christmas countdown clock. Everything is slowly but surely creeping up upon us and the shopping time is about to be down to the knuckles. Gift giving is that one time where you get to find out how well or how poorly you know your friends. For some reason it's also that fun time of year where you totally blank out on what to give some people despite how well you know them. The world of Sephora is both a magical and dangerous place. There's always something new coming out and I always seem to find something that I think that I just have to have in my life. Rarely do I actually need a new product but every time I somehow find a way to justify a adding a new little makeup baby to my collection. I think if my family knew how often I was spending money on makeup they would try to send me to a beauty addict reform school. Fortunately for me they don't pay attention to me like that so my addiction is allowed to flourish and I can continue to share all of my fun things with all of you. 

Friday Favorites | August Favorites

I'm not going to lie August has been a pretty dry month for favorites. Although I have purchased a lot of new makeup this month I haven't had most of it long enough to know if I'm in love or not. On top of that I have been sticking to my typical products lately so there isn't too much more there to report. I was able to muster up a little something though so hopefully it's enough to make this month's favorites at least a little interesting. 

Smashbox Artificial Light Luminizing Lotion in Flash

I love a nice liquid highlight, they blend in so naturally and are amazing for achieving a beautiful natural glow. The Smashbox Artificial Light Luminizing Lotion is perfect for blending into primer, foundation, or moisturizer for an all over radiant glow or by itself as a highlight for brows or cheeks. I can't say that I ever use it for mixing into any of my bases because I have a horrible fear of looking like a disco ball but, this is by far one of my favorite cheekbone highlights. It softly reflects light and gives a nice light dewy glow to the skin. The color I have is Flash. The color is a beautiful iridescent champagne; the pinks and golds within it really pop in the light and change with way the light is angled, giving the face a lot of dimension.
