A Collective Makeup Haul

I don't know how other people cope with crappy feelings and things like that but, I personally turn to some good old fashion online shopping. Whether you find it to be a good thing or not at least I'm doing what makes me happy and I'm not hurting anyone. I'm not hurting myself because fortunately I don't have any serious debt besides student loans (I've learned to accept it and just fight the good fight)... although it probably doesn't seem like it, I do have a decent amount of self control *YAY ME*. I just really like to treat myself when I feel like I deserve it. 

My Everyday Eyes, Brows, and Lips

Try as I might, typically my makeup routine (especially my eyes) tends to be pretty much some variation of the same thing on a daily basis. I would like to use the excuse that I have a full time job and I don't have time to experiment most of the time... not that I usually experiment on my days off either although I should. Maybe I should start branching out more but, I like what I have going on so that might be a slow process.

I love brows, they shape the face and put the final polished touches on any makeup look. They're a balancing act in which you have to find the sweet spot somewhere between too much and not enough. Brows can be tricky to master but with the right tools and the perfect brow lady your brow game can easily be on 10 all the time. On the other if one element is missing things can get a little sketchy so may the odds forever be in your favor.

The world of Sephora is both a magical and dangerous place. There's always something new coming out and I always seem to find something that I think that I just have to have in my life. Rarely do I actually need a new product but every time I somehow find a way to justify a adding a new little makeup baby to my collection. I think if my family knew how often I was spending money on makeup they would try to send me to a beauty addict reform school. Fortunately for me they don't pay attention to me like that so my addiction is allowed to flourish and I can continue to share all of my fun things with all of you. 

Friday Favorites | August Favorites

I'm not going to lie August has been a pretty dry month for favorites. Although I have purchased a lot of new makeup this month I haven't had most of it long enough to know if I'm in love or not. On top of that I have been sticking to my typical products lately so there isn't too much more there to report. I was able to muster up a little something though so hopefully it's enough to make this month's favorites at least a little interesting. 

Recent Top Subscription Box Discoveries

I've been doing the whole subscription box thing for about two years now. I started off doing the whole Birchbox thing then added in Ipsy just to end up canceling Birchbox and just sticking with Ipsy. I'm not going to lie a lot of the things I get either end up sitting around in makeup bins where they go to be forgotten or they get gifted to better homes. On the other hand though this is one of my favorite ways to discover new products because more often than not I get to try out new fun products from brands I've never heard of before. It also helps that I find it to be pretty exciting to get things in the mail. 

Friday Favorites | Full Lashes and Glowing Skin

Two things that I think that go with any makeup look are full lashes and glowing skin because they add a subtle amount of extra flair that can take makeup to the next level. They are even enough to really create a simple fresh makeup look all their own - lashes, a little foundation, bronzer, and a little highlight *boom* good to go. These things have an effortlessly chic vibe to them that I've been really into lately. I've been experimenting with different types and styles of lashes and highlighters here and there for awhile now especially this summer but, I think I have finally found my favorite combo of the moment. 

Friday Favorites | Summer Glow

Everyone loves a glow especially during the summer. It's all about sun kissed tans and skin that glows so perfectly when it reflects in the sun it could blind a man. I may not be one for much of a tan but, I love a good glow. In my most humble opinion I think a nice highlight makes your complexion look more awake and healthy. It's a subtle statement that makes a big impact when you hit the light just right. Just enough in all the right places and you'll be catching eyes left and right. 

Friday Favorites | Eyeshadow Palettes

While attempting to organize my makeup I stumbled across some of my favorite palettes from the past few years. Needless to say the organizational part came to a screeching halt at that point and has yet to be resumed. Personally, when it comes to palettes I'm the type of person who will use solely one palette for months until I find something else. Typically that leads to me basically wearing the same eyeshadow looks day in and day out until everyone around me is probably sick of repetitively seeing the same thing. As you can probably tell I tend to stick to neutral palettes stacked with warm browns, golds, and the occasional ever so lovely cranberry esque shades. 

Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lipgloss in Bittersweet | Review

If I've said it before I'll say it again, I'm not always the biggest gloss fan. Typically I don't like the texture of most of them and I hate it when my hair gets all stuck in sticky glosses leaving streaks of color all over the place. But, I got the Urban Decay Revolution High Color Lipgloss in Bittersweet recently so I figured I would give it the old college try because the color looked absolutely gorgeous in the tube. 

Friday Favorites | April Favorites

Another month of 2015 down and another batch of things I have been obsessing over. April has been a pretty vanilla month, as are most months of my life but none the less I found things to get excited over. I'm pretty excited the weather is getting warmer and my allergies are starting to die down again. For a minute there I was really worried for the well being of my winged liner because I couldn't go out of the house without immediately tearing up to the brink of being blinded by pollen. Things are better now and I'm happy I don't have to worry about the state of my eye makeup any longer and I can focus on the more important things in life like what kind of makeup I'm going to buy next.

I've realized that there are some products that I couldn't live without but they don't get enough recognition. I don't even give these products a second thought sometimes but, I just grab for these products like clockwork. Sometimes it's the most simple products that make the biggest difference. These products might not be anything super special at first glance to most but, they would be my first easy fix recommendations.
