Beauty Trends I'm All About for 2016
A new year means out with the old and in with the new, right? In this case of makeup trends I think it's a yes and a no because although 2016 is bringing in some new makeup trends they are still staying tried and true to some of last year's staple trends which is great for me because I honestly probably wouldn't have paid much mind to it being an out-dated trend and rocked them anyway. I kind of just always do what I want anyway.
In that being said I just want to sit here and have a little chit chat about makeup trends that I am newly/continually all about. Personally, I don't think that any of these trends are truly new but, I think some of them are getting more perched up on their pedestals than they have ever before.
Shall we just get started?!
Highlighting - Highlighting is as eternal as the glow that it gives you when it is perfectly and strategically placed on your cheek bones. The perfect highlight truly polishes off any look. Highlighting was a strong component of 2015 so I'm glad it's sticking around although I love it so much I would continue to do it regardless.
Color Correcting - Although I'm really not about the high intensity color correcting I see a lot online, I am a big supporter of correcting with purposeful placement. A little bit of color correcting goes a long way and when done right it can really make the complexion look flawless. Color correcting has been around since possibly the beginning of time but only recently has it been given the hype it truly deserves. Until youtubers and instagram famous artists started showing videos of them using correctors, trying to convince someone that they might need to look into using a corrector was like pulling teeth from a hungry lion's mouth.
Bold Liquid Lipsticks - At this point I think everyone should know I support any and all types of liquid lipsticks whether they be bold or not. I do love a good bold liquid lipstick though because uhm, hellooo.... they have an amazing wear to them and you don't have to worry nearly as much if you wear one out for dinner or for drinks. Your lip will stay on almost if not all of the night with minimal touch ups, allowing you to avoid any and all messy lip faux pas.
Messy "Sept in" Hair - Honestly, I will always and forever rock and support this hairstyle because I'm pretty lazy and I rarely do my makeup and my hair... I pick one and it's always makeup. At least I'm honest. It is what it is.
What trends is everyone else stoked for? I'm pretty excited to see what this year has in store.

Friday Favorites | Nude Liquid Lipsticks
Out of all the lipsticks I my nude liquid lipsticks get most of the attention. I wear one practically everyday because they are so easy to wear. They last all day, I never have to worry about how they are fading, and it's easy to spice them up a little bit by mixing them with other colors or adding different colored lip liners. Some people might think they are plain but, personally I think that since they are so easy to manipulate that they are actually some of the most interesting and fun... or maybe I'm so vanilla I made that up but, you can be the judge of that.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick Bow N Arrow | Review
I probably own about 1000 brown nude matte lip products (okay in actuality its probably more like 20-30 but, still.) I probably do not need another one but, the lack of need has never stopped me from buying a lipstick before and it isn't going to start now. I'll be honest here, sure I own a lot of lipsticks that look the same but, unless they are in the same packaging with the exact same name on them they are vastly different and that is how I will justify any similar purchase. Nudes lips are a constant go to for me so in my mind I can never really have enough. So, obviously when Bow N Arrow relaunched buying it was a no brainer.

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip| Review
Here's to another huge launch that sent a site crashing and left makeup junkies all over the world scrambling and stressing about little liquid lipsticks. I feel like no matter how much a site attempts to "prepare" for a huge launch it never works out quite right. It seems like the amount of people that end up rushing the site are unfathomable to these companies and the servers just aren't ready to keep up with the demand. It also doesn't help that everyone is typically overloading the servers by being on 10 devices at once and constantly refreshing the page (you're just making life harder on yourself and everyone else.) Regardless of the stress I do have to say this launch wasn't nearly as bad as the Morphe Jaclyn Hill Palette launch since it didn't happen at 3 am. I'm not going to say getting these ColourPop Ultra Matte Lips wasn't a nightmare because it totally was but, once again obsessive dedication and patience won out and I got the job done.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Weirdo | Review
It has finally happened I have a matte black lipstick *praying hands emoji* thank the makeup gods. I know that there are a lot of black lipsticks out there but honestly most of the ones that I have come across aren't dark or opaque enough and when they have been typically they tended to be a little too creamy and they smear everywhere - not a good look. I was going to pick up black velvet from Lime Crime but, after shopping with them ended with me getting fraudulent charges on my bank account I reconsidered and went on a quest for something better.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Anna Nicole | Review
I did it! No surprise here that I made my second Jeffree Star purchase when he launched his two new shades Anna Nicole and I'm Nude along with his re-release of Weirdo. I love Celebrity Skin so much I just had to go out and extend the family while simultaneously getting my weekly makeup fix. I picked up Anna Nicole and Weirdo. I also contemplated getting I'm Nude but I think it may be a little too light and have a little too much pink in it for me - who knows though, being me there is always a chance I could change my mind and end up scooping it later.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Celebrity Skin | Review
So I finally caved and bought Celebrity Skin, one of the new Valore Liquid Lipsticks from Jeffree Star Cosmetics... I knew this moment would happen sooner or later - actually I'm shocked this didn't happen sooner. Either way it's mine now and it's fabulous. Celebrity Skin is a peachy soft brown that makes for the perfect nude for every occasion, day or night.

Rimmel Show Off Lip Velvet | Review
I feel like I may or may not have said this before but, this is totally the year of the liquid lipsticks. Makeup companies from drugstore to high-end are jumping on board for this trend and it couldn't be any more exciting. A year or two ago Rimmel came out with their Show Off Lip Lacquers and now they have came out with their Rimmel Show Off Lip Velvets. The premise behind them is virtually the same; super creamy light-weight lip paints but, the only difference is that these ones are MATTE.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks | Pure Hollywood and Heathers Review
The queen of brows, Anastasia Beverly Hills, recently expanded her kingdom to the world of liquid lipsticks. Liquid lipsticks have become really popular recently and I couldn't be more floored about it because they are my favorite lip products. I am super lazy and the last thing I want to worry about all day is if my lipstick looks wonky or patchy. Liquid lipsticks solve all my problems or, well... most of them because they are overall a matte and longwearing formulation so I rarely have to reapply or worry about them unless I'm eating and need to do a touch up.
